The Passion Behind the Business

The Big Boss

I have been working with horses, children and young adults since I was eight years old. My work with horses began before we had the luxury of electricity on the yard, back in the days when you dug your wellies in the muck heap to keep your toes warm!

I have always been passionate about horses. As a young adult, I studied a National Diploma in Horse Management and went on to study and gain a degree in Equine and Human Sports Science.

My aim is to help disabled children and adults to become more active using horse care sessions and personal training. Using horses makes exercise fun and horses have a wonderful affinity with people. I also work alongside a physiotherapist to adapt activities and support their functional skills which can be used in everyday life. There are so many more benefits – making friends, developing communication and being part of a community!

I look forward to meeting you and introducing you to our horses.

Fundraiser

Having a disabled daughter changed my perspective on life – it made me focus on what Evie was able to do and not what she couldn’t! Accessing life became a real challenge as her condition worsened, which is not how it should be for anyone!

Since Evie’s passing in 2020, I have done a lot of fundraising to help make activities and places more accessible to the disabled community. Evie loved her visits to the stables and because I know how much pleasure she got out of this, I am passionate about making sure other people with disabilities can access and enjoy similar things.
